Bus Lane Regulations

Any Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) issued on or after 31 May 2022 is now subject to new bus lane regulations. 

Drivers given a penalty charge notice (PCN) for driving in a bus lane, now have more time to pay at the discounted rate, as changes have been made to the rules.

Motorists given a PCN for being in a bus lane now have 21 days to pay at 50% discounted rate, this has increased from the original 14-day period. The new regulations also introduced a new rate for a PCN, increasing from £60 to £70. The charge will be £35 if paid within 21 days.

As stated above, the changes commenced on 31st May 2022 and any PCN issued up to and including 30th May will be subject to the existing regulations (2007), including a charge of £60 and a discount period of 14 days.
