There is so much happening in 2022 to help you, your family and school get active whilst promoting healthier, more sustainable travel. Check out these fantastic opportunities with free resources too!

New Year often starts with good intentions to get fitter and healthier but this year it is even easier to do - a chance to combine your  efforts with being more environmentally-friendly! Climate change challenges are a reality for all of us, yet we can all do our bit to reduce reliance on motor vehicles and help streets around schools to become safer more pleasant places to be.

February starts with Children's Mental Health Week and what better way to promote well-being than cycling, scooting or walking even part of the way to school. Did you know that most journey's taken to school can be walked in under 20 minutes? Check this website for great resources and get your local school involved!

The big cycling and walking event this year is offered courtesy of Sustrans. "Big Pedal" is back but it's got a new name. Big Walk and Wheel is the UK’s largest inter-school walking, wheeling, scooting and cycling challenge. It aims to inspire hundreds of thousands of pupils to get active on the school run. This year's challenge will take place from 21 March to 1 April 2022.Is your local school signed up?

Remember, whatever event local schools are supporting, these are great opportunities to get active - whether a sponsored Superheroes walk to school for Red Nose Day  - 18th March - or taking part in Living Streets' Walk to School Week - 16th to 20th May!
