Road Safety Officer

Communities sometimes need guidance about how they can develop their road safety plans, and what can be safely and legally done on the roads.

While this fund can only provide a number of basic items, we recognise the value of having a professional road safety officer helping you to identify the key issues and develop your plans. This will include a site visit and walk around your community, so that you can discuss your concerns.

If we identify potential solutions such as Traffic Orders, or engineering works, these cannot be delivered through this fund, but you will be well prepared for your next conversation with your local highway manager.

Your concerns

You will also be provided with a short report, summarising what has been discussed and with suggestions for further action.

We will be arranging these visits to make best use of the officer’s time. The site visits will be within normal working hours – 9am-4:30pm. Up to 3 people will be able to attend the site visit on behalf of your community / group.
