New SAP system: what this means for SIMs users

The new SAP system is now live!

Read the full instructions for authenticating your new account and logging into the new SAP system.

Update:

For all GCC schools who don't have their own bank account and who send in invoices to GCC for payments.

Please note, the new SIMS school app for transferring payments to GCC has a slight technical issue. This is due to the App not recognising some 'school only' vendors. This does not apply to all vendors for payments. The issue is being treated as the highest priority by our implementation team and they are working hard to fix this as soon as possible.

What should I do if I have an error saying "THE VENDOR CODE IS NOT VALID – IT MAY NOT EXIST. PLEASE CHECK SCHOOLSNET"

You can wait for the issue to be fixed before processing the file, or process the file with the good invoices. Unfortunately you will then have to do a correction in FMS/BROMCOM and then reprocess the error ones again.

Please accept our sincere apologies for this issue and we will let you all know when it is fixed.

Does your school buy the ‘Payments and Income’ service from GCC?  Do you work in school administration or financial management and process school invoices?  If you answered yes to both these questions, please read the information below and watch the short video.  It will help you get ready for a new SIMS App that will change your payments processes and affect your job and school from March 31, 2026.

Background

All schools who purchase payroll services from GCC will benefit from the upcoming transition to a cloud-based SAP system from 31 March 2026.  This project is called One SAP which is part of a bigger programme of change at GCC called the One Programme.

Why is this change happening?

The current SAP system is hosted on physical servers and we’re moving to a safer, more resilient software model which is hosted in the cloud.  The support for our current SAP service is ending which means we must make the switch.

What are the benefits of the new system and payroll system

  • The system is cloud-based, which means better security, more up-to-date and improved reliability (and it can be automatically updated).
  •           The new SIMS app will flag errors to be corrected before the file is sent through to GCC - so no back and forth.
  •       Payments will be sent quicker

For full guidance on what the App is used for and how to use it please see the School SIMS App Guidance For Schools
