Published
Managing disciplinary matters, grievances, safeguarding concerns or serious allegations can be complex and time-consuming. Human Resources can provide an independent investigator to support schools through these sensitive cases. Our investigators ensure investigations are fair, robust and defensible - helping leaders and governors act with confidence.
What’s included in the service
We provide end‑to‑end investigation support, delivered by experienced HR professionals, including:
- A scoping meeting with the commissioner to agree terms of reference and approach
- Interviews with all relevant parties, including witnesses, conducted professionally and sensitively
- Review of documentary evidence to ensure all relevant information is considered
- A comprehensive investigation report, setting out findings clearly and objectively
- Presentation of findings to senior leadership and/or governors, where required
Why schools choose our investigation service
- Independent and impartial – helping reduce the risk of challenge or perceived bias
- Specialist HR expertise – with strong understanding of employment law and school environments
- Clear findings – supporting fair decision‑making
- Reassurance for leaders and governors – confidence that processes have been handled robustly
An external investigator can be particularly valuable where matters are sensitive, senior staff are involved, or where internal capacity or objectivity may be limited. Please note, the service does not include note-taking.
