We work with adults over the age of 18 living in Cheltenham who have care and support needs including including older people, people with physical disabilities and individuals with a range of complex needs.
We helpĀ vulnerable adults find their own solutions to stay independent, or may offer them some short-term support to get them back on their feet, staying by their side until they are confidently living an independent life. For those who need a plan for their long-term care and support, the Cheltenham Locality Team works with partners and providers to offer the highest quality of support that it can.
We make use of the Three Conversation approach, a model that re-emphasises focus on people, their strengths and the networks and community around them.
"I am the Locality Admin Lead for Cheltenham. Iāve been in the role for three and a half years. Before that, I came from a management background in retail and I was looking for a more work life balance. My role means that I manage a team of nine people who provide all sorts of admin support to the social workers, social care practitioners. Whatever they ask us to do, we generally will provide that service for them. Admin is the cog that keeps it moving.
"Thereās definitely the avenue for me to progress, try different things and be involved in lots of different projects. Also within my role I am able to offer that to my administrators, to mentor them and help them progress. Itās rewarding I think, on both parts for what I do as a manager but also what we do for the wider team." - Locality Admin Lead
