Shire Hall is located in the heart of Gloucester City Centre. There are plenty of cafes and shops in the city, all within walking distance. Shire Hall is also situated opposite Gloucester Cathedral where there are benches and outside seating areas available, which is particularly nice during the summer months.
A 10-15 minute walk will take you to Gloucester Quays, an outlet shopping centre with a mix of high street and designer labels as well as a great selection of restaurants.
There is free parking available to those working in the Gloucester Locality, which is only a short walk from Shire Hall. There are also a limited amount of duty spaces available to workers on the Referral Centre and a smaller onsite car park where you can park for three hours at a time, which is ideal for days when you have planned visits or external meetings.
Gloucester has an excellent public transport system, with a main bus station with frequent links to its surrounding towns and villages, such as Cheltenham, Stroud and Cinderford. There are also regular bus routes around Gloucester via the City Centre. The train station is also a ten minute walk from Shire Hall, which is perfect if you are planning to commute from another area within the county or from the surrounding areas such as Bristol, Worcestershire or Oxfordshire.
