Introduction to rehabilitation

  • We are a 24-hour bed-based service that offers high quality care and support for people to regain their independence.
  • Staff are trained in offering ongoing help and support with physiotherapy exercises and practice with daily tasks that people would continue to manage in their own homes.
  • We can focus on enabling recovery and referring to the Adult Social Care department if there is continued support needed when you return home.

We achieve these outcomes by assessing people and making sure that their needs and wishes are supported, through discussions and by listening to their choices. We have 24-hour care staff who are available to offer care and support whenever it is needed. You can find out more about the team by visiting our webpage.

Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists work within the team and are continually offering guidance, support and planning through their expertise, to support people with their recovery. We have equipment on site that is available if needed and can be provided on a persons return to their home following assessments by the Occupational Therapist.

We have an excellent team who can offer support, care and guidance for each individual that comes to Great Western Court. They complete annual mandatory training. We are also able to offer additional training to staff that may be recognised through annual appraisals or following reflection by the managers.

We are governed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and feedback to them, to ensure that we are transparent. We offer a safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led service meeting the standards set out by regulations. Our current rating is a good service overall and this can be viewed on the CQC website.
