What do the team do?
- We screen and triage all safeguarding concerns that are received by GCC.
- We identify the local authority’s statutory safeguarding duty under Section 42 of the Care Act.
- We ensure the right agencies are involved in safeguarding enquiries and are carrying out their responsibilities.
- We provide specialist support.
- We also recognise and value good working relations with all agencies involved in working to safeguard adults experiencing abuse and/or neglect.
- We support the work of GSAB (Gloucestershire Safeguarding Adults Board) for example by involvement in audits, policy reviews and data analysis.
- We attend safeguarding training sessions.
- We can upon request visit service providers to talk to staff teams about safeguarding.
