The post holder will also carry out supervision and workload management, as well as providing professional leadership. This involves direct management of senior practitioners, social care professionals and administrators, whilst ensuring good quality practice and monitoring the allocation of the social care workload.

The Integrated Social Care Manager, will make key decisions in management of cases and deployment of resources, in particular the locality external care budget.

"I am an Integrated Social Care Manager with Gloucestershire County Council. It’s ISCM for short and it means that I’m the manager of 1 of the 8 teams that we have across Adult Social Care operations.

"I came into Social work to help people. I’m naturally quite nosey and inquisitive so I suppose some of my natural skill set lent myself to that. Now as a manager, I’m still helping people, not necessarily frontline myself anymore but I’m still helping support the teams of people that are going out." - ISCM, Cotswold Locality Team
