Celebrating Gloucestershire at the Royal Three Counties Show
The Show is a key calendar event for celebrating rural life, innovation, and the countryside, including highlighting the strength and diversity of the county’s food, farming and rural economy.
Following a busy business breakfast, where we set out our county vision and reaffirmed our commitment to supporting rural communities and the farming sector, the session then offered a valuable opportunity to engage with stakeholders and outline some of the practical steps being taken to strengthen Gloucestershire’s rural economy.
Throughout the event, the Gloucestershire County Council stand provided a vibrant hub, highlighting a wide range of services, from tourism and libraries to active travel initiatives. Visitors were also able to learn more about the emerging Food and Farming Strategy, with the event consultation survey remaining open for those involved in the sector who would still like to contribute to the show survey for food and farming.
Everyone enjoyed the chance to share space with outstanding local food producers, helping to showcase the quality, diversity, and innovation of Gloucestershire’s local offer and featuring some exceptional local businesses, including Made in Gloucestershire members Sugar Rose Kitchen, Forest Delights, and Petala Soaps.
Visitors had the chance to sample high-quality products and meet some of the friendly faces behind them, helping to showcase the breadth, creativity and entrepreneurial spirit that define the local food and drink industry. The show also attracted some notable visitors, including farmer and TV presenter Adam Henson, who kindly stopped by to show his support and take part in a short interview.
Overall, the Royal Three Counties Show demonstrated its importance in bringing together food, farming, tourism, and rural infrastructure providers, to highlight how these sectors collectively contribute to a thriving local economy. It also created valuable opportunities for businesses, partners, and stakeholders to come together to celebrate, enjoy the day and discuss all things Gloucestershire.
