UPDATE: Some of the restrictions on emailing have been lifted

We are pleased so say that we are now able to receive some external emails. Until we are completely confident that our servers are not at risk, external emails that include a link or an attachment will continue to be quarantined.

Emails from us are not affected by the block that is in place, so you should still receive contact from us in this way, although it may take slightly longer than normal. We will let you know when these issues are resolved.

If you need us urgently, please call us.

Funding for the Voluntary and Community sector

Currently there are three ways of accessing funding from us for your not-for-profit organisation.

1. Procurement:

We will commission services from the voluntary sector through legal contracts in order to provide more secure, longer-term funding (this will normally be a minimum of three years). Commissioning decisions through procurement will be based on service area priorities. Tendering opportunities are available at

2. Investing:

We will provide investment funding (a form of grant funding) to enable organisations to develop their services to the point where we can meaningfully contract with them for future service provision. Investment funding will be offered on either a short or long term basis on the clear understanding that this is for the development of the service. Directorates will make investment funding decisions that are directly linked to service area objectives.

3. Giving:

We will continue to award small annual grants for specific initiatives. Details will be made available on this website.

Armed Forces Community Covenant

We have signed up to the Armed Forces Community Covenant and pledge our support to service personnel and their families, living in the county. For more information on how to apply go to Armed Forces Community Covenant page.
