Asset Management and Property Services Plans and Policies

The management of Gloucestershire County Council's estate is undertaken in line with the following plans and policies.

Corporate Asset Management Plan 2026-2029

The Corporate Asset Management Plan provides an overview of the land and property estate, together with our main priorities for managing and developing those assets over the next 4 years in support of our services and key priorities. 

The Corporate Asset Management Plan was approved by Cabinet on 28th January 2026.

Rural Estate Strategic Estate Plan 2016-2030

The Strategic Estates Plan sets out the council’s on-going commitment to retaining the rural estate whilst rationalising it to generate capital receipts and consolidate lettings to improve farming sustainability over the long term.

The 2016 Strategic Estate Plan was approved by Cabinet on 20th April 2016.

Policy for the Disposal of Property 2012

The Policy for Disposal of Property sets out the procedure for declaring property surplus, statutory requirements, decision making and the different types of property disposals.

The Policy of the Disposal of Property was approved by Cabinet on 12th December 2012.

Property Acquisition Policy 2017

The Property Acquisition Policy sets out the framework to acquire and develop property, both for operational and investment purposes.

The Property Acquisition Policy was approved by Cabinet on 27th September 2017.
