Children's homes recruitment

We want to make sure that children and young people in care, and our care leavers, can grow up within the county, stay near to their family and friends, and remain at their local schools. That’s why we are growing our fantastic fostering service to open a suite of brand new children’s homes here in Gloucestershire.

Over the course of the next few months, we are going to be recruiting for a wide range of senior and front-line practitioner roles for our new homes and all the staff who join us will become part of our amazing children’s services workforce.

If you already have the necessary Level 3 qualifications in children’s residential care and experience of working in the sector, we absolutely want to hear from you. But it’s not essential because if you’re passionate about making a difference and you've got the right skills and attributes, please get in touch. We will also be seeking applications from those who seek a new career in children’s social care and who want to play an integral part in caring for our most vulnerable children and young people.

We would love to tell you all about the amazing career opportunities we have available.

Our class leading Social Work Academy will support you with a dedicated training programme, and we will help you to qualify and gain accreditation.

In Gloucestershire, as part of our Participation Team, we are proud to employee 15 Ambassadors who are ‘experts by experience’ as young people who have had or still have support from Children’s Social Care and Early Help.  Ambassadors are essential in our recruitment process, and if appointed you will receive bespoke training facilitated by Ambassadors which will include sharing their knowledge and experiences and their nationally awarded ‘Language that Cares’ resources and information.

We are committed to working in a trauma-informed way to achieve the best for our children and young people and their families and the commitment from our partners to work with us will enable us to give our children and young people the right support. If you want to be part of our leading children’s social care team, which is at the forefront of what’s happening across the Southwest, we would love you to join us.

We’ll be sharing all of the exciting career opportunities we have coming up on this page, so please make sure you check back regularly for updates.

Follow us on social media @GCCSocialWork (Facebook & X), we’ll post all opportunities as they go live.
