Kingsholm House
Building Relationships. Building Resilience. Building Futures.
Kingsholm House Children’s Home is a new provision developed in line with the National Framework based on “Stable Homes, Built on Love.” Central to the National Framework is a belief that the lives of children, young people and families can be different. Our aim is to provide high quality love, care, protection and stability for children / young people using a trauma–informed approach.
We are recruiting staff and all adverts will be posted on our Children’s Home Recruitment page so please do keep checking for updates.
The purpose of Kingsholm House Children’s Home is to provide a home for 8 children and young people of all genders aged between 13 – 17 years. The home takes a trauma-informed approach, combining life skills training, ASDAN awards, and strong community links to prepare young people for independence. Guided by the ethos “To Build,” Kingsholm House focuses on relationships, resilience, and independence. Its modern environment offers flats for autonomy and shared spaces for connection.
How do we support children and young people?
We have an experienced staff team staff comprising of the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, Team Leaders and Residential Practitioners. All staff members use a trauma informed approach. All members of the staff team will support the care plan and pathway plan for each child / young person placed in the home.
The staff team works with the virtual school to provide a high level of educational support for all the children / young people that live in the home. The staff team promotes life skill development and learning through play, fun and new experiences, in a safe and supported environment. The staff team play an active role in the health education of children and young people by providing them with advice and information which is age and understanding appropriate.
By creating a nurturing environment that balances guidance with independence, the team at Kingsholm House Children’s Home empowers children to face future challenges with confidence, ultimately leading to more successful and fulfilling adult lives.

Kingsholm House is designed to feel warm, welcoming, and modern, even within a large building. The décor and furnishings have been chosen with direct input from our Children’s Ambassadors, ensuring the home reflects what young people tell us feels safe, comfortable, and truly theirs.
Children and young people are encouraged to take pride in their surroundings from the moment they arrive. They can personalise their living spaces and get involved in caring for the home — helping to build a sense of belonging, ownership, and independence.
For those living in our self‑contained flats, there is a greater emphasis on autonomy. Young people are supported to furnish, organise, and maintain their own space, building essential skills for adulthood as they prepare to transition to independent living.
Relationships at the Heart of Our Practice
We know that every child who comes to Kingsholm House brings important relationships with them. Our team recognises and values the friendships, family connections, and trusted adults who have been part of each young person’s life before moving into the home.
Using a trauma‑informed approach, we help children maintain these relationships safely and meaningfully. We also support them to build new friendships and connections within the community, strengthening their sense of identity and belonging.
Creating Experiences, Fun, and Opportunities
Life at Kingsholm House is active, varied, and shaped by young people’s voices. Children and young people are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities — both inside the home and out in the community.
From planning movie nights or themed dinners to trying new hobbies, sports, or ASDAN challenges, young people work alongside staff to plan and shape their own experiences. This collaborative approach builds confidence, decision‑making skills, and memories that truly matter.
Whether you are already qualified or looking to start a new career in children’s residential care, we would love to hear from you. Bring your passion, your values, and your commitment to making a difference — and we will provide the training, support, and opportunities to help you thrive.
Come and help us build something extraordinary.
