Foster with us

Support local children and young people by becoming a foster carer with Gloucestershire County Council.

Across the county, there are children and young people in need of compassionate and dedicated foster carers; adults who can support them and offer care and security during what can be an incredibly challenging period of their lives.

At Gloucestershire County Council, we champion the principle ‘Local foster carers for local children’. Fostering with us means that you support local children in a time of crisis, allowing them to maintain important relationships with friends and family, as well as remain in familiar schools, clubs, and communities.

We welcome people from all walks of life as foster carers, and with lots of types of fostering available we’re hopeful that there’s one to suit your needs and lifestyle. Find out a little about the different types of fostering by watching the video below, and check out our website for more information, such as training opportunities, allowances, blog posts from foster carers, and how to enquire.
