Child Exploitation Team
The Child Exploitation Team works alongside and supports social workers and other professionals who are working with children who are at risk of being or being exploited.
We work using a contextualised safeguarding approach. We try to understand what is happening in our local community by working alongside families.
- Multi-agency working to identify exploitation and community risks at the earliest stages.
- Assisting with mapping and community profiling.
- Attend and feed into monthly MACE meetings.
- Attend and feed into daily Harm Outside the Home Meetings.
- Delivering exploitation awareness training and group work sessions to ASYEs, schools and partner agencies.
Where we are based
The Child Exploitation Team are based at the Police Investigation Hubs, Prism House, Davy Way, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 2AD. This Child Exploitation team are split into localities:
- Gloucester and Forest of Dean
- Cheltenham and Tewkesbury
- Stroud and Cirencester.
Who we are
We have one team manager and three social workers. We are a county wide team and each of our social workers have their own localities.
Skills you'll need
- Understanding and knowledge around exploitation, missing and contextual safeguarding.
- Someone who can build and develop relationships with children and their families.
- Someone that can delivering 1-1 or group work sessions.
- It would be good if you had experience in systemic practice, contextual safeguarding, trauma informed approach and were used to working in a multi-agency way
