Social Work Academy

The Academy is committed to supporting the development of outstanding practitioners and leaders who affect positive change for children, young people and their families in Gloucestershire. Our aspiration is to inspire, challenge and support those throughout Gloucestershire Children’s Services to strive for the right support for the right child, at the right time, every time.

Our learning offer is organised into programmes and bespoke training that respond to practice development needs within Gloucestershire and we will be expanding this support to wherever you work in the service.  In addition to the in-house training and support, there are opportunities within the Academy offer for you to undertake learning with external providers.  

Our Systemic Practice model has been embedding across our service for several years now.  To support this journey to continue, we have developed an in-house training offer to support you, regardless of how confident you feel with this model, and will support us to transform practice in Gloucestershire.  Our partnership with Research in Practice means that you have access to resources and events that support evidence informed practice beyond the in-house and partnership training offers.

We are proud that Ofsted have recognised the positive impact and influence the Academy has within the service, and beyond, but even more proud of the value our colleagues across the service place on our training and support.
