Advancing Practice

Blue ladders on a blue wall, but wow; one is white and way longerThe Advancing Practice Programme is for those who want to deepen their skills in important areas of practice. The programme includes 4 half-day sessions aimed at Senior Social Workers, Advanced Practitioners and Deputy Team Managers (or the equivalent of those roles in different teams), with the focus of these sessions currently being as follows:

  • Developing skills around interrogating the quality of the work you and your team do with children and their families
  • Improving the use of evidence in your work with children and their families,
  • Providing high-quality supervision
  • Expanding your skills in providing learning and development to those around you, whether that be NQSWs, multi-agency groups, or your colleagues
