Who do we collect personal data about?

The council operates CCTV and surveillance camera systems at various sites where the public have access, including:

• car parks,
• care homes,
• community libraries,
• council offices,
• household recycling centres,
• municipal buildings,
• nursing homes,
• cameras to enforce the appropriate use of bus lanes,
• dashboard cameras in some of our fleet vehicles, and
• body worn cameras (BWCs), which are used by our enforcement officers and other employees with similar roles.

As such, our cameras will capture images in real time wherever they are pointed and may record members of the public, including our staff, councillors, and contractors, as well as pedestrians and other vehicles.
