Introduction to our Information Governance Framework

We manage our Information Governance with a framework which consists of the overarching roles and responsibilities, policies, standards, procedures and guidance documents to cover all information disciplines and all information created, received, managed, shared and disposed.

The framework allows us to embed good practice, identify and manage risks to information we hold and monitor overall compliance.

Under data protection legislation the council ensures that it can demonstrate accountability for its processing activities.

We have an appointed Data Protection Officer (DPO). The DPO plays a key role in ensuring accountability, but is not solely responsible.
