How is Information Governance implemented across the council?

As part of their induction into the council all employees must complete corporate training to cover information governance. The training is then to be completed on a regular basis thereafter. This training includes (but is not limited to):

  • Induction training to be completed within 3 months of joining the council; and
  • Monthly information security videos; and
  • Refresher training

Mandatory e-learning relating to Information Security is issued to all staff to complete monthly.

Training needs are assessed by the Information Management Service on a regular basis, including additional training for the key roles who support the information governance agenda across the council.

Members of the Information Board, including the SIRO and Caldicott Guardians, undertake data security and protection training regularly.
