Information Sharing

Most of the council's information sharing will be defined by legislation or statutory guidance but we also take further steps to protect your personal data.

In 2010, GCC worked closely with partner agencies to develop the Gloucestershire Information Sharing Partnership Agreement (GISPA) which brings together consistent sharing practices between police, health and other organisations within Gloucestershire. You can learn more about the GISPA on the GCC website.

Sharing information on a regular basis

There are a number of ways in which the council will document how and why information can be shared on a regular basis. This could be through an Informaton Sharing Agreement, contract or other formal documentation.

Those signed up to the GISPA may have a Specific Information Sharing Agreement (SISA) in place. You can learn more information on these on our GISPA page on the GCC website.

If personal data is shared on a regular basis with a contracted third party, the details of the sharing will be outlined in the data processing schedule within the contract. This will set out what personal data the contractor can process and within what parameters.

The contract will also contain appropriate data protection clauses, referring to the applicable data protection legislation.
