What smishing is
Smishing is where an attacker sends a text message impersonating a legitimate company or person trying to obtain personal information, such as username and password or bank details.
What to do if you receive one
- Forward them to 7726 (it’s free). This will report the message to your mobile phone provider.
- Add the number to your device’s ‘blocked numbers’ list.
