Smishing texts

What smishing is

Smishing is where an attacker sends a text message impersonating a legitimate company or person trying to obtain personal information, such as username and password or bank details.

What to do if you receive one

  1. Forward them to 7726 (it’s free). This will report the message to your mobile phone provider.
  2. Add the number to your device’s ‘blocked numbers’ list.
