Build Back Better Councillor Scheme
Dear Members,
Thank you for the recent submissions to the Build Back Better Fund & Youth Fund. We have had a recent increase in applications overall and the new Youth Fund has delivered the first set of payments to the endorsed organisations.
We want to raise awareness of an approach you may receive from The Police Community Clubs of Great Britain, who have submitted several applications recently and some historically to run their Barney & Echo, Caught in the Web Internet Safety Project in schools. These have been processed and the organisation appears to be engaging with local schools in a positive manner. We have contacted some councillors to discuss ways we can manage the newest applications in the most effective manner, and these are being processed. We have also contacted the organisation and they have been keen to engage with our team.
The organisation is very proactive and, in some cases, has offered to write applications for schools and have been advising Councillors of the BBB process. We would like to highlight that the organisation is not involved in the BBB administration or process and their projects are not automatically endorsed by us in any way. Each project will still be subject to the usual due diligence checks required for each application. We would expect any applications to be made initially by the schools themselves and endorsed by the relevant councillor. Thank you for the current applications that have already received endorsement.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation, if you have any feedback, questions, or comments, please direct them to: Buildbackbetter@gloucestershire.gov.uk
Many thanks
