Flu vaccine drop-in sessions for Elected Members

Published

If you are an Elected Member who is not eligible for an NHS flu vaccination, you can get a free vaccination through work.

So far this year 1,200 colleagues have already had a free flu vaccine through the staff flu vaccine scheme. Thanks to this positive uptake, two additional flu vaccine drop-in sessions have been arranged to make it easier for you to get protected.

Session details:

  • Monday 1 December

9.30am to 5.30pm
Stroud Road Pharmacy
153A Stroud Rd, Gloucester GL1 5JJ
Phone: 01452 523937

  • Wednesday 3 December

8.45am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 5.50pm (closed for lunch)
Badham Pharmacy, Quayside House, Quay St, Gloucester GL1 2TZ

Phone: 01452 757755

There is no need to book an appointment. Take your work ID and remember to complete a consent form and take it with you.

Every effort has been made to make vaccine supplies available for these sessions.  However please be advised the vaccines are available on a first come first served basis and currently demand for the vaccine appears to be high.

Why get vaccinated?

Flu can be serious and spreads more easily when we’re indoors together. The flu vaccine is safe, effective, and well-tested. It’s the best way to boost your immunity and protect yourself, your colleagues, and your loved ones.

The free flu vaccine is available to members who are not eligible for an NHS flu vaccination. If you are eligible for an NHS flu vaccine, please follow NHS guidance and book through your GP or the NHS website.

If you’re unable to attend a drop-in session, you can:

  1. Visit a participating pharmacy in Gloucestershire. You won’t need to pay anything. It is advisable to contact your chosen pharmacy to check that a vaccine is available before attending.

  1. Visit any pharmacy nationwide and claim back up to £15 with a receipt through expenses.

Why it matters

By getting vaccinated, you’re helping to:

  • Protect yourself and those around you

  • Reduce pressure on the NHS

Let’s keep each other safe and well this winter. Get your flu vaccine and encourage your colleagues to do the same.
