Free flu vaccines are still available to Elected Members who are not already eligible through the NHS

If you are an Elected Member who is not eligible for an NHS flu vaccination, there are two ways you can access a free vaccination through work:
- Attend a participating pharmacy in Gloucestershire and show your work photo ID badge: Participating Pharmacies 2024. You won’t need to pay anything. This list will be updated regularly as arrangements are finalised and new pharmacies are added. To make the process quicker, print and fill out this vaccination form: Flu consent form 2024.
- New for this year: visit any pharmacy in the country which is convenient for you and claim back up to £15 with a receipt through expenses. This year we’re adding more flexibility to how you can access a flu vaccine by allowing you to get your vaccine anywhere in the country, wherever it’s convenient for you, pay and then claim back up to £15 in the way you normally claim expenses. Pharmacies offering flu vaccinations under that limit include Superdrug (£9.95 with a Health and Beauty Card) and ASDA (£13). You can opt to go to a pharmacy which charges more if it suits you, but you’ll only be able to claim back a maximum of £15. The expenses type “Flu jab” will be available to choose in Concur by the end of October, so save your itemised receipt to upload from then and it’ll be paid in the next pay run. If you are one of the few colleagues who don’t have access to the Concur system, you’ll be able to claim the same benefit using your usual paper expenses claim form.
Flu can be life-threatening, and it spreads more easily in winter when we are all crowded together inside.
The flu vaccine is safe, effective, and well tested. Having it is the most effective way to boost your natural immunity to protect yourself and others.
