Have your say on Gloucestershire’s Rail and Active Travel Strategies

Published
Further to Cabinet approval, Gloucestershire County Council is inviting councillors, communities and other interested parties to help shape two important transport strategies for the county: the draft Rail Strategy and draft Active Travel Strategy.

The Active Travel Strategy sets out a long-term approach to making walking, wheeling and cycling easier and more accessible across Gloucestershire. It covers areas including infrastructure and maintenance, safer crossings and road safety, links to schools and public transport, cycle parking, behaviour change, community involvement and better journey information. The consultation runs for six weeks, from 19 October to 30 November 2026. Read and comment on the draft Active Travel Strategy

The draft Rail Strategy sets out a vision for rail in Gloucestershire and seeks views on its vision and objectives, priority actions, whether it reflects the needs of communities, and any changes or additions that should be considered. Following consultation, feedback will be reviewed and used to inform the final strategy. Read and comment on the draft Rail Strategy
