Help Us Spread the Word: Room to Care? Fostering Information Event
“Foster carers are the backbone of our service. When councillors champion fostering in their communities, they help us reach people we might never otherwise connect with. Their support is not just helpful—it’s crucial.” (Tammy Wheatley, Head of Service Permanence & Fostering).
As elected leaders, county councillors have a unique platform, influence, opportunity and responsibility to make a real difference. We’re asking you to use your connections in the community to help us promote our upcoming event on Wednesday 23 September, from 7.00pm to 8.30pm, at the Leonardo Hotel, Gloucester Road, Cheltenham, GL51 0TS.
The event, “Room to Care?”, is a friendly and informal information evening designed for anyone who has ever wondered about fostering but may have questions about what it involves. It’s a great opportunity for members of our community to come together and hear from our recruitment team, as they chat through some of the myths around fostering, the support available and what it means to foster with Gloucestershire County Council.
Foster carers play a vital role in providing safe, stable and nurturing homes for children and young people across Gloucestershire. With an ongoing need for more foster carers, every conversation and every poster displayed can help reach someone who may be able to offer a child the support they need.
