Minerals & Waste Local Plan Notification Update

Gloucestershire County Council has formally commenced preparation of a new Gloucestershire Minerals and Waste Local Plan and has published the associated Notice of Intention to Commence Plan-Making and Minerals and Waste Development Scheme (Plan Timetable) on 10th September 2026.

The new plan will guide minerals and waste development in Gloucestershire over the plan period and will be prepared under the new plan-making system introduced by the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2026.

There will be opportunities for stakeholders and communities to become involved as work on the plan progresses. Details of future consultation and engagement activities will be published on the Council's website and circulated to consultees in due course.
