Public information events planned ahead of M5 Junction 10 slip road closures
Residents, businesses and road users are being invited to a series of public information events to find out more about the next major stage of the M5 Junction 10 Improvements Scheme.
The scheme will transform junction 10 into an all-movements junction, allowing drivers to join and leave the M5 in every direction. It will also help enable the delivery of more than 20,000 new homes, including over 7,000 affordable homes, and support the creation of around 12,000 skilled jobs.
The next major stage of construction will include closing the existing northbound entry and southbound exit slip roads at junction 10. These closures are currently expected to begin in early 2027 and last for an extended period of around two years, although the precise arrangements and duration are still being reviewed.
The M5 itself will remain open throughout. However, drivers will not be able to join the motorway northbound or leave it southbound at junction 10 while the slip roads are closed. Withybridge Lane will also be closed during this period, while the A4019 will remain open, with temporary traffic management required at certain times.
The council and its partners, including National Highways, are continuing to consider the effect on nearby roads and communities. This includes the proposed diversion routes and measures to discourage drivers from using unsuitable local roads.
Public information events
The events will give residents, businesses and road users the opportunity to view the latest scheme plans and visualisations, meet members of the project team and ask questions about the construction programme, diversion routes and traffic arrangements.
The events will take place on:

- Thursday 5 November, 3pm to 8pm – West Cheltenham Community Fire Station
