Reminder: Cyber awareness training for Councillors
Given our reliance on the internet in all of our roles, it’s really important that staff and members have good cyber awareness to combat cyber-attacks including how to spot malicious phishing emails.
We have produced some online training available covering cyber security and GDPR best practice. It has been designed especially for councillors and is made up of several modules.
The modules are well designed and presented in an easy-to-digest way. There are fourteen modules in total, each taking around 10 minutes to complete. You don’t have to do them all at once. You can do just one at a time and it records your progress.
You should have received an email from matobolearning.co.uk with a link to the training along with a prompt for your username and password.
To access the e-learning from your council supplied device click on the icon below
We have also produced a guidance document to help you through the log-in procedure which may be helpful.
If you experience any issues accessing the training please contact the ICT Critical User help deskon criticaluser@gloucestershire.gov.uk or democraticservices@gloucestershire.gov.uk.
Do try to find time to do the training if you can. It will help you keep information safe not just in your councillor role but also with your political and personal activities outside the council.
