Warmth on Prescription
This project runs from November to March and provides short-term interventions to keep patients out of hospital through winter. Patients must have a coronary, respiratory or complex condition, savings below £3,000, and must be referred through the NHS. If they are eligible, an energy adviser will visit them at home to give energy advice and assess their heating bills. We can then pay up to £500 towards their heating costs which is made direct to the energy supplier. Costs are covered by the government’s Housing Support Fund.
We have already received 97 referrals during October 2025 which will result in eligible applicants receiving their payments in November. Please use Referrals | Warm and Well and choose the ‘Warmth on Prescription’ option.

Community-based energy advice
Face-to-face support for your patients with energy debt, meter issues, Ombudsman complaints, smart meters, crossed meters, setting up accounts, Priority Service Registration, raising awareness of carbon monoxide, and energy efficiency advice.
Our community-based energy advisers help people across the county through local drop-ins or at home. Some of our advisers are bi-lingual. You can refer your patients for this support through Referrals | Warm and Well. An adviser will contact the patient and, if appropriate, arrange a home visit to offer the support and advice they need.
Warm and Well service
Funded by Gloucester County Council, this telephone adviceline supports vulnerable people across the county with energy advice and access to grant funds available for energy efficiency improvements for their homes, new boilers, and renewables, subject to eligibility. The team will triage callers for suitability for a home visit by one of our community-based advisers.
