Vacancy: Gloucestershire’s Police and Crime Panel Independent Member
The role of a Panel member is an important one. The typical commitment required from a member of the Panel is expected to average up to one or two days a month, including preparation time. Meetings will generally be held during normal office hours at Gloucestershire County Council. All Panel members will be able to claim reasonable travelling expenses.
Applicants must be over 18 years older and live or work in the Gloucestershire area. Firsthand experience of policing is not required for the role, but applicants are expected to have a basic knowledge of the role of the Police and Crime Commissioner, and how it differs from the Constabulary.
The Panel are looking for someone who can support and scrutinise the work of the Commissioner and provide a different perspective from the current Panel members.
