  • Adapted teaching to match individual needs
  • Close work with the SEND Team where there is an EHCP to ensure appropriate resources and provision are in place.

5. The Future & Long‑Term Prospects

The Altus is intended as a short-term placement and will work to identify appropriate next steps with you and your child to support them back into mainstream

A permanent exclusion does not prevent your child from:

  • Returning to a mainstream school
  • Moving to a specialist setting if needed
  • Progressing to college, university, or employment in the future

The goal is always to identify the most suitable, sustainable placement.

*Please note this may be different if your child has received a second permanent exclusion.

This depends on:

  • Their progress at The Altus School
  • Their needs and readiness
  • Allocation of appropriate placements through a child’s EHCP

Reviews will be held with you to discuss reintegration options.
