Autism Central Peer Educators - opportunity to get involved

Autism Central is a peer education programme, commissioned by NHS England. It aims to build knowledge and understanding of autism and empower families and carers to advocate for autistic people they support to get the right understanding and adjustments in place across the services they use.

Everything the Autism Central programme does is informed by or co-produced with autistic people, parents and carers. 

Working together - Opportunities to get involved

The South West hub for Autism Central is now bringing together a Peer Education Programme in Gloucestershire. Bristol Autism Support is delivering this programme in the Gloucestershire Area. One to one and group sessions are delivered by parents and carers of autistic people who are happy to share their knowledge and experience with others. 

Bristol Autism Support now have a presence in Gloucestershire and are currently looking for a peer educator to join the team. 

They are keen to work with parents and carers – Salaha Khaleque, a parent carer Carer Panel Member who’d got involved shared “I want to make a positive difference to autistic people and their families by sharing my experience and helping parents and carers understand more about autism.”
