Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum and Local Area SEND Partnership - Memorandum of Understanding 2025-2027

Published
Gloucestershire Parent Carer Forum (GPCF) and Local Area SEND Partnership aims to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), by working collaboratively together. This agreement (memorandum of understanding) seeks to provide a framework across the Gloucestershire Local Area Partnership for all key strategic partners to collaboratively work to achieve the best outcomes for Children and Young People with SEND and additional needs.

Our  partnership aims to deliver the best outcomes by sharing ideas, delivering change together,
and challenging each other.

We strive to communicate effectively with families and ensure their voices are heard. Co-production
involves working with parent carers, young people, and professionals to plan and implement services.

How do we work together and with parent carers
• GPCF arranges coffee mornings and drop-ins for parent carers to meet, share experiences, and learn
about the Forum’s work.
• Representatives from the county council and NHS Gloucestershire attend these events to build
relationships with parent carers.
• GPCF invites specific teams to promote new services and answer questions from parent carers.
• Opportunities for parent carers to discuss individual concerns with professionals can be arranged
in advance.
