EHCP Service update

Published
In June we announced that the EHCP service had secured additional resource and that we were changing the design of the team.

As part of our aspiration to deliver a high-quality service for our families, children and young people, the change of service design will enable us to enhance our capability to deliver a child and family orientated service, with improved communication and collaboration with other agencies to support children receive the right support at the right time.

As part of the redesign we have been delighted to welcome into the service a Deputy Service Manager Sara Cam.  Sara started with GCC on the 5th of July, she has moved from a neighbouring local authority, where she worked in SEND services for over 20 years.  We have welcomed new leads, resolution officers, deputy case co coordinators, case coordinators and EHCP support officers who all bring a variety of areas of expertise into the service and a shared commitment and enthusiasm to deliver a high-quality service.

Contact with the team

We have listened to parents and recognise that communication with the service has been an area for improvement.

We are addressing this in a number of ways:

  • Setting up direct phone lines to someone who can answer your call, we are currently recruiting to progress this and will provide an update when this is live.
  • Amending our email signatories. Case coordinators share individual contact details with families and managers contact details can be found on each case coordinators email signature and out of office.
  • Refreshing awareness of a number of contact points for the service. With all of these we will be happy to receive your enquiry and provide the information you are seeking, or connecting you with the best placed person to respond directly to you.
