This Summer, The Eddystone Trust have a campaign out, called ‘Get Set for Summer’! They are a sexual health charity who understand that young people have sex, so believe it should be spoken about openly and safely. Their campaign focusses on:

  •           Free condoms
  •           HIV and STI testing
  •           Information on PrEP
  •           Sexual health vaccinations

About the campaign

'Get Set for Summer' is here to support people to look after their sexual health during the summer period. With longer days, holidays and festivals it is important you stay informed and healthy. Sometimes it can be scary to talk about your sexual health, but it is important you stay safe and it is normal to have questions.

In Gloucestershire, there is the C-Card Scheme, a project where under-25s have access to free condoms. These can be picked up in certain pharmacies and some colleges for students. Condoms are still the safest way to protect against infections and unwanted pregnancies.

Additionally, The Eddystone Trust promotes testing for HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs). In Gloucestershire, Hope House is the local service. Find out more about them and other support available by visiting Future Me’s Sexual health advice page on the local offer.   If you are worried, you can call and get an in-person appointment, or you can get a testing kit delivered to your doorstep.

To conclude, The Eddystone Trust’s Summer campaign is to help keep you and others safe and informed about sexual health. They have information and other useful links on their website, which can be found here.
