Summer self-care

As the summer holidays begin, many parent carers will find themselves juggling even more responsibilities — managing routines, keeping children entertained and navigating the emotional highs and lows of the holidays. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and exhausted.

At Gloucestershire Carers Hub, we understand the unique pressures that come with being a parent carer, especially during the summer holidays. That’s why we’re offering a range of supportive, restorative activities designed to help you pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.

Why self-care matters for parent carers

Caring for a child or young person with additional needs can be physically and emotionally demanding. Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish, it’s essential. These sessions are designed to fit into your life, offering moments of rest and reconnection that can make a big difference. You may also want to bring along the person who you support so they can feel the benefits too.

Here’s what’s on offer this summer and beyond:

Distance Reiki sessions – online via Zoom. Experience the calming and restorative power of Distance Reiki from the comfort of your own home.
