Travel Training for young adults with Inclusion Gloucestershire

Inclusion Gloucestershire has launched a new Travel Training Project to support disabled adults (18+) in gaining the skills, knowledge, and confidence to travel independently or with support.

What’s on offer:

  • 1:1 Travel Training – Personalised, practical support to learn specific journeys with a travel trainer who will accompany the person on public transport until they are confident to travel alone.
  • Companion Journeys – Support people who don’t think they want to travel independently but could travel with the support of a companion to appointments, events, or social outings (travel support only).
  • Workshops – Group sessions (8+ people) offering practical travel skills and confidence-building.
  • Paid Travel Trainer Roles – A fantastic opportunity for disabled individuals who already travel confidently to support others and earn as they train.

This project is open to Gloucestershire residents aged 18+ who identify as disabled or experience barriers due to a long-term health condition.

For more information, referrals, or to put an application in to become a trainer, please see the SEND Local Offer directory record: Travel Training Project - Inclusion Gloucestershire
