Future Me – Engagement with young people and gathering your feedback

Published
Since the launch of the redeveloped GlosFamilies Directory in September, we’ve been at events around the county, meeting young people and getting feedback about next steps in education and beyond.

Over the last few months, Future Me have met with young people at schools, colleges and careers events around Gloucestershire.

We’ve spoken with young people to find out what’s next for them in terms of education, employment, and training, who’s helping them and what the biggest barriers are.

We’d like to say a big thank you to the young people at Severn Vale School, Alderman Knight School, The Milestone School, Forest High School, Denmark Road School and SGS College. We had some great conversations and gathered really useful feedback. We also would like to thank the staff at these provisions for all their help and for being so welcoming!

Insights from these engagements will be reported to the Local SEND and Inclusion Partnership. From this month and into the New Year, we are going to meet with more young people in schools and colleges across the county to further our understanding about what it feels like to be a young person with SEND growing up in Gloucestershire.

If you or your child would like to provide any feedback, don’t forget you can contact us directly. Email futureme@gloucestershire.gov.uk.You may want to share your thoughts about services you have used, or about the support you are receiving in your education, heath, community and leisure time.

Any young person, parent carer or practitioner can also share feedback around the redeveloped GlosFamilies Directory and Local Offer (including the Young Person’s Local Offer – Future Me) via our feedback survey.

If any education or other provision would like to invite us to upcoming events or discuss any engagement with young people around preparing for adulthood, get in touch via our email.
