Education transfers for children and young people with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP)
Section I of the plan will name the placement for phase transfer or a type of placement if a specific placement is yet to be identified. For young people moving to post-16 provision this day is the 31st of March.Â
The EHCP service team have worked with parents and providers to identify appropriate placements, however if you are unhappy with the placement named in section I of the plan please contact your EHCP case coordinator to discuss your concerns.
Parents can also request mediation, which gives opportunity for the LA and parents to come together to try and resolve disputes with an independent negotiator or lodge an appeal. Please be aware appeals must be lodged within 2 months from the date of the final plan.
Details of mediation and the appeal process are included in the letter accompanying the final plan along with contact details of your case coordinator.
