Vision screening for children age 4-5yrs

Published
Did you know that in Gloucestershire all children at school entry age are eligible for a free vision screening test?

It is very important for a child’s eyesight to be screened when they are young so that any problems can be identified and treated early on. The vision screen is quick and simple and carried out to determine if the child has a normal level of vision for their age. If following the screening test a problem is detected, we will refer the child to either an accredited local Optician or to the Orthoptic service at Cheltenham or Gloucester hospital.

The vision screening programme has been successfully running in local authority primary schools within Gloucestershire. We are conscious that the option to have vision screening should be open to all children, irrespective of their educational setting.  We would therefore like to invite you to bring your child to one of our 2 clinics we are holding this year.
