I joined GCC last November as SEND Quality Assurance Lead and have been working with the SEND Education Team and other colleagues to ensure that we continuously scrutinise our service performance for children, young people with SEND and their families; committed to the goal of improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

Quality Assurance systems are involved in defining, assuring, maintaining and improving quality in the delivery of services to children with SEND and their families.

Quality Assurance processes in Gloucestershire are central to ensuring that children, young people, young adults and their families receive the right services at the right time and that those services have a positive and lasting impact.  I support the teams working with qualitative and quantitative data to ensure that services, through check and challenge, are working to deliver the highest quality in all areas of SEND Education.

Having spent my career teaching, training and assessing cross-phase (but largely post-16) in mainstream and alternative provision, I know the impact a robust, high-quality service can have on the life of a child or young person and their family.

I have received a warm welcome from the team here and am enjoying working with colleagues to deliver the consistently high standards in SEND Education that the residents of Gloucestershire deserve.
