Thank you for joining our Preparation for Adulthood Events throughout November!

Published
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and supported the Preparation for Adulthood events held across Gloucestershire in November 2025.
A range of stallholders at Brimscombe Mill prepare to showcase their services under festoon and fairy lights.

These events were designed to help young people, families, and professionals explore the opportunities and resources available as they transition into adulthood—and your participation made them a resounding success.

Where we met

Throughout the month, we engaged with over 70 families, creating meaningful conversations and sharing experiences. Your enthusiasm and commitment to preparing for the future truly inspired us and reinforced the importance of working together to create positive outcomes for young people.

A special thank you goes to our incredible hosts who provided welcoming spaces for these events:

  • Gloucestershire College at Steam Mills and Cheltenham campuses
  • The Grace Networks, Brimscombe Mill
  • The Old Department Store, Cirencester

Each venue offered a fantastic setting that allowed us to deliver informative sessions in comfortable and accessible spaces. Your generosity and support played a vital role in making these events possible, and we are deeply grateful for your partnership.

Community feedback

We’re thrilled to share that 100% of people surveyed said they would attend again and recommend the event to friends and family. This incredible feedback shows the value of these events and motivates us to keep improving and expanding our support for young people.

One parent shared:

“I do not feel alone in navigating SEND options for my young person.”

This perfectly captures the sense of community and reassurance these events aim to provide.

We were also delighted to welcome families in community spaces whose young people are not currently educated in school. Their presence highlighted the importance of making these events inclusive and accessible for all, ensuring that every family feels supported in planning for adulthood.

A range of stallholders

An extra special thank you goes to the generosity of our professionals who gave their time outside normal working hours to attend and talk with families. Some of our colleagues attended all four sessions, and we could not have made the event as special without you. Your dedication and commitment truly made a difference.

Thanks to conversations at these events, Forest and Gloucester Sports are now planning to launch a Level 2 Sports course, responding to the needs of young people and families. This is a fantastic example of how these events spark real opportunities and create pathways for young people to thrive.

In summary

These events were more than just information sessions—they were opportunities to build connections, foster collaboration, and empower young people to take the next steps toward independence. We are proud of what we accomplished together and excited about the future.

Thank you once again for your time, energy, and commitment. We look forward to continuing this important work and hope to see you at future events.
