Mental Health resources for SEND families

After 30 years supporting the young people of Gloucestershire, Teens in Crisis/Tic+ changed its name in April to Talk Well.
Talk Well continues to provides a safe space for children, young people, parents and carers to talk and be heard.
Children and Young People (aged 9-25)
- Speak to a Talk Well counsellor on the 'phone, via text chat or directly via video or face-to-face at school or college, or at another suitable location.
- InterACT – a series of three live online sessions help with new ways of managing difficult thoughts and feelings.
- Talk WellChat - call or live-message friendly, trained team members about anything is troubling
- One at a Time - A single, solution-focused session – to help face a specific issue and work out what could be different or what to do next.
For parent carers
1. FREE interactive tailored sessions for Gloucestershire parents & carers of ages 11-18. Weekly sessions, 1.5 hours each, daytime or evening. You can access these sessions in Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Stroud, Forest of Dean or online.
2. FREE confidential helpline if you are supporting someone who is 25 years old and under, living in Gloucestershire, drop-in to our free, anonymous confidential helpline during open times and talk to one of our trained parent support advisors - View Talk Well on the SEND Local Offer.

Headspace is a local charity dedicated to providing free counselling and therapeutic wellbeing support to young individuals aged 11-19 years old in the North Cotswolds who are navigating mental health challenges.
Headspace provides comprehensive support through a counselling service and a Wellbeing programme.

Gloucestershire Connect and Offload provides works with parent carers and supports adults living in Gloucestershire who are experiencing mild to moderate wellbeing difficulties, such as anxiety, low mood or depression, including support for self-harm.
The Helpline provides anonymous confidential person-centred wellbeing support through telephone, text or webchat. The team will listen and help navigate the most useful support at that time – whether this is emotional and or practical support. View Headspace on the SEND Local Offer.

Please see the article from the Carers Hub on their YouCan programme is a new series of four virtual sessions designed for parent carers to build and maintain positive wellbeing.

Lumi Nova: Tales of Courage is a FREE app to help your child build confidence and self-manage their worries. It is designed for 7 - 12 year olds (school years 3 - 7) who are having difficulties with fears and worries related to social situations, separation or phobias, but may also be helpful for young people outside this age range.
Children living in Gloucestershire (or registered to a Gloucestershire School or doctors’ surgery) are entitled to FREE access to the Lumi Nova app.
To use Lumi Nova you must first register to get a game key by visiting luminova.app/glos or by scanning the QR code below, and completing a short registration form. You will then receive an SMS message that will guide you through getting started.
Lumi Nova is free to download from the Apple and Google Play Stores and is compatible with iPhones, iPads and most Android smartphones and tablets.
