Annual Parent Carer Survey  - update

Responses to the survey have been analysed and key themes shared with the SEND & Inclusion Local Area Partnership (SILAP).

Following a fantastic response to the annual survey (2024), a group that includes parent carers, education, health, and care services has carefully analysed the findings. Four priority areas for improvement were identified from analysis of the responses.  These are:

  • Communication with families to navigate the system and find the right support at the right time;
  • Support and resources available to children with diverse needs;
  • More effective communication and co-ordination among professionals;
  • Training and professional development of staff working with children with SEND.

The Local Area Partnership is focused on delivering improvements in these priority areas and will provide updates on their progress.  These responses will be included within the annual ‘You Said, We Did’ report, due to be published in September 2025.

Looking forward

Preparations are underway for this year’s annual survey, which is set to be released in October 2025. Feedback from parent carer groups regarding the length and design of the survey will be incorporated to enhance its accessibility and encourage greater participation.
