 What is 'Connect to Work'?

In July this year, the Employment and Skills Hub officially launched 'Connect to Work', a new voluntary employment support programme funded by the Department for Work and Pensions.  'Connect to Work' focuses on supporting those with barriers to employment such as health conditions, disabilities, and care experience by providing them with tailored support, resources, and workshops to build their confidence and skills. Whether you need help with interview practice, job searching, or accessing public transport, the Employment Specialists are there to help.

To access the 'Connect to Work' programme you must be over 18, have the right to work in the UK and have been unemployed for over six months. However, if you’re employed but at risk of dropping out of work due to a disability, long-term health condition or other disadvantages, an Employment Specialist can provide in-work support.

If you don’t match that criteria, but would still like support, the Employment and Skills Hub have other programmes that can support individuals who are 16+ and looking for employment, education, or training opportunities.  If you think you could benefit from our support, contact us:
