Brighter minds in darker months: Mental health support for SEND families

SEND children and families face challenges year-round, especially in winter. In Gloucestershire, free resources like On Your Mind Glos offer mental health support, self-help guides, and anonymous services for ages 0–25 . In addition to this, services such as Lumi Nova and Let’s Talk Well provide age-specific help to build resilience and manage anxiety.

In Gloucestershire, families have access to a variety of resources to support and boost their mental wellbeing.

It is a free resource where children, young people and their families can find help and support for their mental health when they aren’t sure where to go.

The 'Mental Health Support Finder' is available online and via text service for people aged 0-25 and will find the most appropriate resources within the county. For parents, carers and professionals there is also the 'List of Services Directory'.

The 'On Your Mind Glos' site also has self-help guides to provide general advice about how to look after yourself or your young person and support their mental wellbeing.

'Let's Talk Well' provide a free, anonymous and confidential service for young people in Gloucestershire aged 9 to 25. Young people can call or message the service and be put through to a member of the team who will listen and offer support.

Advice and support for parent carers - 'Let's Talk Well'

'Let's Talk Well' also provide a support and advice line for parent carers who may be worried about their child's mental health, emotional well-being or behaviour.
